St. Christopher’s Preparatory School provides an intellectually, stimulating all-round education from Year 1 through to Year 6, which challenges and involves pupils in the learning process. We strive to engage each learner in a challenging yet rewarding experience which enables one progress at their own pace.

Learners are taught in mixed ability groups and work differentiated to cater for individual needs. A vibrant Learning Support Department is available to cater for learners that need a stimulus means to achieve. In and out of class, learning is made meaningful and applicable to solve life problems that learners are familiar to.

We teach 55 periods per week and each lesson is of 30 minutes periods. In core areas Cambridge University prepares and recommends learning and teaching resources needed to effectively bring about change in the learners. The curriculum aims to change all aspects a leaner’s life, Spiritual, Moral, Social, Cultural, Mental and Physical Development.

 St Christopher’s Preparatory follow the Cambridge Primary programme. The core subjects are Literacy, Numeracy and Science.

Pupils in Year 3, 4 & 5 sit for the Cambridge Progress Tests at the end of every academic year.

The Year 6 students sit for Checkpoint Exams at the end of KS2 to check progress and attainment.

Non-core subjects taught at the school are:

  • RE – Religious Education
  • MFL -
  • Music
  • Computing
  • Physical Education
  • Swimming

 These are guided by the National Curriculum framework. Each subject has a set of attainment targets for students to achieve.
