St Christopher’s offers key sports disciplines included in the British national curriculum guidelines through all the key stages. The P.E and sports department has adequate sports resources that ensure the specification of the British national curriculum physical education guidelines where targets are achieved. This is uniquely achieved in a warm Kenyan atmosphere that is internationally friendly. The P.E and sports department target in KS1 -4 is as follows.
Key stage 1
Pupils develop fundamental movement skills, becoming increasingly competent and confident and access a broad range of opportunities to extend their agility, balance and coordination, individually and with others.
Key stage 2
Pupils continue to apply and develop a broader range of skills, learning how to use them in different ways and to link them to make actions and sequences of movement. They are taught to enjoy communicating, collaborating and competing with one another in teams. They are taught to develop an understanding of how to improve in different physical activities and sports as well as how to evaluate and recognize their own success.
Sports taught in different seasons are Hockey, Athletics, Football, Cricket, Rugby, Netball, Rounders and Basketball.
